Conference Report On Defense Policy Bill Includes No Additional Funding For JSOW

The conference report on the fiscal year 2016 defense authorization bill does not include any additional funding for Raytheon's Joint Standoff Weapon, according to a congressional source. The Navy in its FY-16 budget request asked for $21.4 million to shut down the JSOW production line. Service officials have said the decision was driven by fiscal constraints and a discovery that across the military services, the Defense Department has a sufficient inventory of JSOWs.
