Congress Approves Plans to Distribute $5.2 Billion in MRAP Money

Congress has approved Pentagon plans to distribute $5.2 billion in fiscal year 2008 money for the Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle program. According to an Oct. 18 reprogramming request sent to the congressional defense committees for their approval, the bulk of the money will cover MRAP production, with millions also earmarked for the transportation of the high-demand vehicles to Iraq.
