Congress Approves Shift of $100 Million to Pay for M-ATV Testing

Congress has approved a Pentagon request to transfer $100 million from Army procurement funds to support the early stages of the new Mine Resistant Ambush Protected All-Terrain Vehicle effort, according to a previously unreported reprogramming document. The Jan. 16 reprogramming, signed by acting Pentagon comptroller Douglas Brook and sent to the congressional defense committees for their approval, provides the funding to support M-ATV "prototype testing and Capability Insertion/Retrofit Upgrade design and ballistic testing."
