Congress wants Pentagon mobility requirements review in 2018

Lawmakers want the Pentagon to complete a mobility requirements and capability study by 2018 -- about a year before it had planned to begin its own review. The fiscal year 2018 defense policy bill, which the House and Senate approved this week, would direct the defense secretary to deliver "a mobility capability and requirements study that estimates the number of airlift aircraft, tanker aircraft and sealift ships needed to meet combatant commander requirements." The study is due by September 2018...
