CV-22 deployment to Japan delayed until FY-20 as Navy begins sensor upgrade

The Defense Department on Monday announced that three CV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft, due to arrive at Yokota Air Base in Japan this year, will now permanently deploy in fiscal year 2020. CV-22 is the Special Operations Forces variant of the Marine Corps' MV-22. The Navy-led joint V-22 program plans to field 51 CV-22 aircraft.
