DARPA budget proposes new cyber, machine-learning projects

The Defense Department's advanced research wing is seeking funds for several new projects in fiscal year 2018, including three cybersecurity programs and a pair of novel machine-learning efforts. The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency is seeking a budget of $3.1 billion in FY-18, an increase of nearly $200 million above the FY-17 request, according to budget justification documents.
