Defense Department Directs $293 Million in MRAP Vehicle Spending

The Pentagon is shifting about $300 million from its Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicle fund to various service accounts to continue the production, testing and shipping of the blast-proof trucks, according to a new reprogramming action. The April 21 reprogramming document shows that the Defense Department is moving the money to several funds to support additional testing of the vehicles, as well as their transport, government-furnished equipment and sustainment needs.
