Defense Official: Terrorism Campaign A Major Combat Operation

A senior defense official suggested today President Bush's campaign against terrorism is considered by the Defense Department to be a major combat operation, as opposed to a small-scale contingency. The senior defense official spoke to reporters today, on the condition of anonymity, about the 2001 Quadrennial Defense Review and DOD policy. The QDR report was released by DOD today.
