Deputy defense secretary: Gibson to serve as CMO, starting Jan. 2

Jay Gibson will move from deputy chief management officer to chief management officer, effective Jan. 2, Deputy Defense Secretary Pat Shanahan said today. Addressing reporters at the Pentagon, Shanahan said Gibson would receive "a promotion" early next year. "His promotion is he'll be the chief management officer for the Department of Defense," Shanahan continued. "This goes to the fundamental restructuring of the department."
