DOD to amend SATCOM services acquisition rules to protect against Russian and Chinese threats

The Defense Department is working on an amendment to its acquisition rules that would place more restrictions on procurement of some foreign commercial satellite services and would prohibit the purchase of items from some Chinese military companies. The changes to the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement are in response to directives included in fiscal year 2017 and 2018 defense policy legislation.
