DOD Announces Renamed, Refocused School of the Americas

The Defense Department today announced the establishment of the "Western Hemisphere Institute for Security Cooperation" at Ft. Benning, GA. The name reflects the new focus of the controversial Army School of the Americas, which was directed by Congress in the fiscal year 2001 Defense Authorization Act.
