DOD Approves Start of New Phase for DD(X)

The Pentagon appears to have breathed new life into the Navy's DD(X) destroyer program by granting approval for a major milestone. In an acquisition decision memorandum signed this morning, Pentagon acquisition executive Kenneth Krieg approved milestone B for the program, authorizing the start of the ship's system development and demonstration phase.
