DOD Delays Decision in Fierce Presidential Helo Contest

The Pentagon's plans to pick one of two aircraft competing to become the future presidential transport helicopter have been delayed, possibly until after the upcoming presidential election. Navy acquisition executive John Young proposed extending the decision process "to pursue additional risk reduction regarding this vital program" and Pentagon acquisition czar Michael Wynne approved that recommendation today, according to a statement issued by the Navy.
