The Defense Department expects to spend $7.3 billion for F-35 Block 4 modernization between fiscal years 2020 and 2024, according to new details in the Pentagon’s FY-20 budget justification books. The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter’s five-year funding profile for Block 4 continuous capability development and delivery (C2D2) is $3.7 billion higher than the level projected in the FY-19 budget request and includes funding from the Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps and the program’s international partners.
