DOD Drafting New Plans For Domestic Disaster Response

The Defense Department is drafting new operational plans for military action in response to a massive domestic disaster. Adm. Timothy Keating, commander of U.S. Northern Command, is putting the finishing touches on Concept Plan 2501-05 and is expected to forward it for approval to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld next month, according to NORTHCOM spokesman Michael Kucharek.
