DOD Exercise to Simulate Nuclear Attack Against Charleston, SC, Again

The Defense Department this month will simulate a devastating nuclear terrorist attack against Charleston, SC, in a repeat of an exercise held last summer. The goal is to improve military support to civil authorities dealing with the aftermath of a catastrophic event. The military's Joint Task Force-Civil Support, headquartered at Ft. Monroe, VA, will host a three-day exercise for commanders of its subordinate units as well as representatives of other federal agencies that would be involved in managing the consequences...
