DOD IG: Army Should Restart Testing On Humvee Variant With Improved Protection

The Army should restart live-fire tests on a "risk-reduction" version of the humvee that offers improved survivability and consider converting existing trucks to the upgraded configuration, according to a new report from the Defense Department inspector general. Additionally, the Army should use the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System process to analyze the capabilities of fielded and future light tactical wheeled vehicles to determine if it needs the next-generation Expanded Capacity Vehicle, a program canceled by the service last year...
