DOD Spending An Average Of $7.5M Per Day On Iraq Operations

The Defense Department is spending an average of $7.5 million per day on operations in Iraq since June 16, according to Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby. While it would be inaccurate to simply multiply the amount by 74 days to get $555 million, Kirby said that would be a good way to “thumbnail” the total cost.
