DOD tallies Columbia-class submarine acquisition tab at $260 billion

The Defense Department has submitted an initial Selected Acquisition Report for the Ohio-replacement submarine program, detailing in a 45-page document cost and schedule targets for the Navy's top modernization project -- a $260 billion effort to develop, field and operate a new ballistic missile submarine fleet through 2080.
