DOD Wrangles Over Billions in Defense Spending Bill

The Defense Department is appealing nearly 80 provisions in the House and Senate's proposed fiscal year 2007 defense appropriations bills, wrangling over billions of dollars for weapons systems, operations and personnel. DOD's concerns are outlined in two packages of appeals sent to Congress earlier this month. Today, the Pentagon issued revised versions of those documents.
