DOT&E: Inadequate B-1 Defensive Systems May Limit Lancer Combat Utility

The program intended to modernize Boeing B-1 bomber defensive systems was left unfunded by the Air Force in fiscal year 2002, and unless a decision is made to fund the upgrade in the FY-04 budget cycle, the Lancer could be left "unable to meet survivability requirements," according to a newly released report by the Pentagon's chief tester.
