DOT&E, Navy disagree on Expeditionary Sea Base self-defense capability

The Pentagon's operational test and evaluation community is at odds with the Navy on the level of self-defense capability needed for an Expeditionary Sea Base, dubbed a T-ESB. A T-ESB is a heavy-lift ship based on the British Petroleum Alaska-class oil tanker design. The platform is modified with a large mission deck, elevated flight deck and military accommodations and workspace for 250 personnel.
