An influential advisory board says the Pentagon must "vigorously" pursue three quantum technology areas with particular military potential. The recommendation comes from a new Defense Science Board task force -- originally commissioned in May 2017 -- on quantum technologies applications, which finds sensing, computing and communications with quantum sensing hold the most promise for near-term combat application of a 120 year-old scientific theory about sub-atomic particle behavior that if unlocked and harnessed augurs truly revolutionary advancements.
