DSCA Announces $4.5 Billion F-16 Sale to Romania

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency today notified Congress that the Pentagon wants to sell 48 Lockheed Martin F-16 fighter jets and support equipment valued at $4.5 billion to NATO-ally Romania. The deal would include 24 new F-16 Block 50/52 with either General Electric or Pratt & Whitney engines and 24 used Block 25 fighters. The older jets will feature increased-performance Pratt power plants. The potential sale also includes Northrop Grumman-built APG(V)9 radars for the Block 50/52 F-16 and APG(V)1 radars...
