Dunford touts lower F-15EX sustainment costs, but lawmakers want more data

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford told lawmakers this week the estimated cost to sustain the F-15EX is about "50 percent less" than that of the fifth-generation F-35 -- a difference that is driving the Pentagon’s proposal to buy more fourth-generation aircraft in its fiscal year 2020 budget.
