England Approves New Pentagon Homeland Defense Strategy

Gordon England, the acting deputy defense secretary, has approved a long-awaited Pentagon strategy for homeland defense, setting forth the most detailed blueprint for how the U.S. armed forces will contribute to protecting American soil. The strategy, prepared over the last year by the office of Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense Paul McHale, was signed by England on June 24, according to Pentagon sources.
