Entire F-35 Fleet Grounded As Fallout From Fire Continues

The Pentagon disclosed late on July 3 that the entire Joint Strike Fighter fleet has been grounded as defense officials continue to search for the cause of a June 23 fire aboard a conventional-variant F-35. The Air Force’s F-35A fleet at Eglin Air Force Base, FL, and other sites around the country has been in a “temporary suspension of flight operations” since the fire, attributed tonight to an engine malfunction, while the Marine Corps’ F-35B returned to flight several days...
