Esper: 'We know we need to trim programs' to fund modernization priorities

Army senior leaders expect to make cuts to existing programs in order to fund their ambitious modernization objectives over six priority areas, according to the service secretary. In remarks today at the Heritage Foundation, Mark Esper cited the "large pipeline" of existing programs of record and said leaders are "looking very closely" at the entire portfolio.
