GAO: Crime, Corruption in Bosnia Threaten to Delay NATO Troop Pullout

Persistent crime and corruption in Bosnia is impeding the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and could delay the final pullout of NATO-led peacekeeping troops, the General Accounting Office has concluded. In a July 7 report to members of the House International Relations Committee, GAO found that "conditions for the complete withdrawal of NATO-led forces will not be met unless Bosnian officials make concerted efforts" to address the crime and corruption that still pervades Bosnia's political, judicial and economic systems...
