Gates: EADS Formally Requests Extension To KC-X Tanker RFP Deadline

EADS has formally requested that the Pentagon extend a deadline for proposals in the Pentagon's $35 billion, next-generation tanker competition in order to prepare a bid, Defense Secretary Robert Gates told lawmakers today. While Defense Department officials have not made a decision on whether to push back the May 10 deadline, Gates told senators the Pentagon would not change the bidding parameters outlined in the request for proposals.
