General Dynamics' CDC Systems Wins $2.4 Billion U.K. Radio Deal

CDC Systems U.K., a General Dynamics business unit, has been awarded a $2.4 billion contract from the United Kingdom Ministry of Defence for the Bowman communications system, GD said today. CDC Systems was formed by GD "to provide dedicated, co-located and single-point management" for Bowman, a GD statement reads. Bowman is a secure digital voice and data communications system for the U.K. armed forces. Initial operational capability is slated to be achieved within two years, and all 18,000 U.K. army...
