GMD Interceptor Fails To Hit Ballistic Missile Target

The Ground-based Midcourse Defense system failed to hit its intended target during a flight test over the Pacific Ocean today, the Missile Defense Agency announced. The intercept attempt was a re-take of a test that failed in January. "The flight test included the successful flight of an intermediate-range ballistic missile target from Ronald Reagan Test Site on Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands and a long-range interceptor missile launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA," MDA said...
