GOP budget blueprint for defense exceeds BCA caps by $401B

The House Budget Committee has unveiled a GOP spending blueprint that seeks to fund national defense at levels that exceed the 2011 Budget Control Act by a total of $401 billion between fiscal year 2018 and FY-21. The BCA caps base defense spending at $549 billion in FY-18, $562 billion in FY-19, $576 billion in FY-20 and $590 billion in FY-21.
