The Defense Department’s evolving budget and strategy will protect investments in emerging capabilities, shrink U.S. forces and DOD’s bureaucracy, rethink the Pentagon’s force-planning construct and confront major readiness challenges, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel said today.
