House authorizers target hypersonics, cyber in new legislation

The House Armed Services emerging threats and capabilities subcommittee has put forth legislation that would transition the Pentagon's developmental hypersonic weapons programs to the military and increase U.S. cyber operations with NATO. The subcommittee's mark of the fiscal year 2018 defense authorization bill includes measures that would allow the defense secretary to transfer all oversight and management of the hypersonic air-breathing weapon concept from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to the Air Force.
