House Authorizers Want More Accountability From Army On Stryker

The House Armed Services Committee's fiscal year 2014 defense authorization bill would limit funding for the Stryker combat vehicle until the Army addresses issues with $900 million in unused spare parts. The committee's concerns stem from a Defense Department inspector general report released late last year stating that the Army, due to mismanagement, had accumulated nearly $900 million in Stryker replacement parts at a facility in Auburn, WA, with much of the gear becoming outdated even as the service continued...
