House defense authorizers want the Pentagon to develop a holistic policy for adopting fifth-generation wireless technologies. The House Armed Services intelligence, emerging threats and capabilities subcommittee's proposal for the fiscal year 2020 defense authorization bill requires the Pentagon to develop a 5G policy "to enhance military capabilities, maintain a technological advantage on the battlefield, and accelerate the deployment of new commercial products and services enabled by 5G networks throughout the Department of Defense."
