House defense authorizers have adopted a provision in their annual policy bill directing the Defense Department to report on plans and the associated costs for dealing with the effects of climate change. The amendment , introduced by Rep. Jim Langevin (D-RI), would require the Pentagon to produce a report on the "vulnerabilities to military installations and combatant commander requirements resulting from climate change over the next 20 years."
