House Passes $636 Billion FY-10 Defense Appropriations Bill

The full House today passed a $636 billion defense appropriations bill by a 400-30 vote. Lawmakers by a 269-165 vote approved an amendment submitted by Rep. John Murtha (D-PA), the House Appropriations defense subcommittee chairman, which would allow for the redirection of funding slated for advance procurement of additional F-22 aircraft toward spares and repair parts, including engines for the F-22 and C-17, aircraft defensive systems and aircraft weapon systems.
