House relents; SM-3 Block IIA test against ICBM cleared for 2020

The Missile Defense Agency is cleared to resume planning for a flight test in fiscal year 2020 of a Standard Missile-3 Block IIA against an intercontinental ballistic missile target. The planning comes after House lawmakers dropped their firm objection to near-term plans for a demonstration of a potential second layer of protection for the United States against North Korean threats.
