Despite an initial proposal that was about twice the anticipated cost, the Air Force is nearing an agreement with Boeing for the E-7A Wedgetail prototypes, service acquisition chief Andrew Hunter said today. “We will soon have an agreement that will be something affordable for the taxpayer,” Hunter told the Senate Armed Services airland subcommittee.
