JIEDDO Director Says POM Will Transition Anti-IED Funding to Base

Funds for the Joint Improvised Explosive Device Defeat Organization will level off and increasingly be included in the base budget, according to the organization's leader. Lt. Gen. Thomas Metz, director of JIEDDO, told reporters during a round table today that he expects the Pentagon's six-year spending plan -- known as the program objective memorandum (POM) -- to migrate about one-third of the organization's funding into the base budget.
