Kendall: 'Skunk Works' Pilot Will Streamline Milestone Decisions

The Defense Department's upcoming "skunk works" pilot project for acquisition management will significantly streamline milestone decisions for participating programs, Pentagon procurement chief Frank Kendall said today. The initiative -- one of many outlined in Kendall's recent implementation guidance for "Better Buying Power 2.0" -- will involve small, "empowered" teams of government and industry professionals focused on "well-defined" requirements, he said.
