The Army today awarded Norway's Kongsberg Defense a $1 billion contract to produce Common Remotely Operated Weapons Station systems, which allow gunners to remain inside protected vehicles while firing weapons. The contract begins with an immediate delivery order worth $292.9 million, the Defense Department said in an announcement.
