Kongsberg Defense Wins $1 Billion CROWS Contract

The Army today awarded Norway's Kongsberg Defense a $1 billion contract to produce Common Remotely Operated Weapons Station systems, which allow gunners to remain inside protected vehicles while firing weapons. The contract begins with an immediate delivery order worth $292.9 million, the Defense Department said in an announcement. The firm-fixed-price contract will pay for the systems as well as spare parts, depot operations and field service representatives, according to the Pentagon.
