Krieg Forms Panel to Assess Counter-IED 'Strategic Campaign'

The Pentagon's acquisition executive has commissioned the Defense Science Board to conduct a second examination of U.S. military options for improving defense against improvised explosive devices. On March 21, Kenneth Krieg signed a memo directing a new task force to assess the U.S. military's "strategic campaign" to defeat improvised roadside bombs and critique the efforts of the Joint IED Defeat Organization, a shop President Bush established last year to focus anti-IED efforts across the military, according to the document.
