Lawmakers Request Regular Reports On QDR Implementation

Lawmakers want a fuller accounting of how the Pentagon is executing the new blueprint for U.S. military forces spelled out in the Defense Department's Quadrennial Defense Review, which was delivered to Congress earlier this year. Both the House and Senate defense authorization committees, in their respective versions of the fiscal year 2007 defense bills, include language indicating a desire for more detailed information on the Pentagon's plans to adjust its capabilities to deal with future challenges.
