LHA-8 production continues despite pandemic

The production of the America-class amphibious assault ship Bougainville (LHA-8) is continuing despite the coronavirus pandemic, and a Navy spokeswoman says the vessel remains on track to meet its January 2024 delivery date. Colleen O'Rourke, a spokeswoman for Naval Sea Systems Command, told Inside Defense the Bougainville is 22% complete as of October 9.
