Lockheed Martin Wins $879 Million ACS Contract

Lockheed Martin has won an $879 million contract to develop the military's Aerial Common Sensor, beating out Northrop Grumman for the bid, the Army announced this evening. ACS is a joint Army-Navy initiative to build a next-generation airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance system that will be integrated aboard a mid-sized jet and feature a variety of sensors to collect data. ACS is intended to replace the Army's Guardrail Common Sensor and Airborne Reconnaissance Low and the Navy's EP-3E Aries II...
