Loverro: DOD Finding Alternatives To Chinese SATCOM Services

By May, the Defense Department should no longer be reliant on a Chinese company for satellite communication coverage over Africa, a space policy official told Congress this week. For two years, DOD has leased communication coverage for U.S. Africa Command from a satellite known as APSTAR-7, which is owned by a Chinese company, APT Satellite Holdings.
