Marine Corps' AAAV Approved For EMD

The Office of the Secretary of Defense has determined the Marine Corps Advanced Amphibious Assault Vehicle is ready to begin engineering and manufacturing development, the service announced today. The Defense Acquisition Board approved the program for EMD on Nov. 29, according to a statement issued by the Marine Corps. The AAAV will carry Marines from amphibious transport ships far inland during an amphibious assault.
